Electric Medway

Medway's popular digital arts festival (2020, 2021) offers 10 days of experimental work and performance with artist talks; shown outdoors, in libraries, cafes and in the metaverse.

Digital theatre series (2021) produced remotely with young people using augmented reality costumes and Zoom sets to tell the story of the mysterious Medway Megaliths settlements.

Intra 2121

Using 360 imagery, sound and animation (2021), school children were invited to reimagine the Old Chatham High Street one hundred years in the future, presented as 3 time portals accessed via phones.

In response to the pandemic (2020),  5 local artists were commissioned to experiment, play and create new prototypes, using emerging technologies.

Inspired by 'choose your own adventure' novels of the 1980s, we prototyped a multi-path phone and audio experience set in a future Hastings (2019).

Beacons

A unique community adventure and live event in Folkestone (2021), using gamification, bespoke technology and sound telling the story of the ancient Sea Gooseberries.

King Harald's Saga

Part escape room, part archaeological dig (2017), this interactive show was performed in living rooms and other unusual sites in Kent, reaching those unfamiliar with opera.

Inspired by the Sussex Downs, Solace (2019) was a touring and virtual 360 installation of immersive audiovisuals that included outdoor recordings collected by local people.

Sea Folk Sing

Sea Folk Sing (2018, 2019) was a touring choral production, presenting collections of new songs and experimental music at unusual sites of industrial, maritime and working class heritage.

NightWatchers

Presented as part of a Micro Opera Festival, NightWatchers (2019) was an outdoor show sited on the harbour arm at Folkestone exploring themes of belonging and identity.   

Workshops

Sonic Classroom

Supported by Royal Opera House Bridge (2020, 2021), these CPD sessions allowed school teachers to explore audio technology, build confidence and apply it to the curriculum.

Story Soundscapes

Delivered to Swale Libraries, Sateda, Ideas Test and MSL Digital (2018, 2019), young people created their own stories enhanced by immersive soundscapes, looping and spoken word.

Disquiet

Youth Music project (2018), supporting emerging music leaders in Strood and Sittingbourne to run their own sessions, and to build a video resource based on the Musical Futures approach.

A live learning event (2015) for secondary teachers and young people from Medway hosted in studios at the Centre for Music and Audio Technology, University of Kent, on the Historic Dockyard Chatham.

360 Environments

Working at a secondary school on Sheppey (2021), as part of Swale Migration Project, students created interactive 360 spaces using researched local oral history and archived photos.

Sounds Like Sherbet Lemons

Partnering with a residential home in Frindsbury (2019), the project delivered weekly workshops using digital music technology to create ringtones and sensory-based memory music.
